Internship @ Curefit in collaboration with Faculty @ Indian Institute of Science(IISc)

If you think you are an expert in Python/C/C++ programming and have worked or want to work in AI, Machine Learning, we are looking for you !!!

If your idea of nirvana is to solve healthcare problems using AI magic, work with some of the top thought leaders and faculty in this space, then get in touch with us.

Who are we?

At Curefit, we take immense pride in the fact that we are amongst the very few deep technology startups in India. We are working with Dr. Chiranjib Bhattacharyya @ Indian Institute of Science(IISc) to solve complex problems in preventive and curative health-care which requires machine learning and AI.

CureFit is a healthcare and fitness start-up launched by former Flipkart CEO Mukesh Bansal and Ankit Nagori, providing services in preventive and curative healthcare, that will combine engagement, coaching and delivery through a mix of online and offline channels. The mobile application, which has been launched recently in April 2017, introduced the preventive aspects: mental wellness (mind.fit), health food (eat.fit) and physical fitness (cult.fit).

Who we are looking for?
  • Person eager to learn and apply Machine Learning algorithms which could involve reading papers and implementing them.
  • Person who could finish the task by taking responsibility end to end.
What skill sets are we looking for?
  • a techie eager to work with the team in creating products in the area of machine learning using Python, libraries like sci-kit, etc.
  • Someone willing to work with Temporal Data Mining with time-series data.
  • Someone who loves to collect and analyse data and believes that clean and useful data is the foundation to solving some complex problems in ML.
  • Collection of data could involve surveys or monitoring the data collection process which is already automated.
  • Ability to take the ownership of tasks and work with minimal supervision.
  • an ability to wear multiple hats required in a startup.
Email us at pradeep@curefit.com if what we have mentioned so far, excites you.

Respond only if it is "Passion to create something that impacts people's lives" that drives you.

Positions in the past

Machine Learning Lab Department of CSA, Indian Institute of Science, invites applications for one postdoctoral fellow and several Research Assistants on modeling of healthcare data. This project is supported by a generous grant from Xerox Corporation. Candidates will have opportunities to collaborate with Research Scientists at Xerox Research Centre, Bengaluru, India and participate in real-world scientific projects.

Project Overview

The availability of digitized clinical data from hospitals presents an unprecedented opportunity to gain deeper understanding of diseases, develop new treatments and improve healthcare. Identifying high risk individuals early can enable preventive care and considerably reduce the clinical and economic burden of healthcare. The aim of this project is to develop statistical models and algorithms to identify high-risk patients in hospitals. Healthcare data is heterogeneous and noisy and includes measurements of vital parameters (like blood pressure), laboratory investigations, radiology investigations (typically images with text reports) and clinical notes containing subjective and objective evaluations of patients' condition. Information about medications, past conditions, comorbidities, addictions and socio-economic factors like income, education level etc. also provide vital clues about patients. Design of clinically useful solutions require the development of statistical models that address the challenges presented by such data. Some examples include:

  • Models of temporal multivariate measurements that are not uniformly sampled both within and across patients.
  • Models that capture complex dependencies in heterogeneous data sources.
  • Models that are robust to the uncertainty and noise and provide known guarantees.
